"Long ago unicorns ruled the world for almost an hour. Then we gave up."
"Not worth the stress?"
"Also, every unicorn wished to pose for the Unicorn Flag."
Review:
(Thank you NetGalley for a copy)
The Phoebe & Her Unicorn series continue in in this latest installment and proves to be as fun and charming as ever.
In this volume we see more of the strangeness - and fabulousness!- of unicorns as well as coming down with a case of Sparkle fever and being introduced to Marigold’s friend a “ corn” where the differences are minimal and are at best “Hipster Unicorns.” There are other parts of the book dedicated to celebrating Christmas, cleaning a room so well it disappears, and dealing with Goblins yet again. There’s also focus on Phoebe and her relationships with her human friends from her “frenemy” Dakota, her friend and crush Max, and the return of her friend Sue aka “Monster Girl” and her magical friend Ringo the Lake Monster.
Each story proves to be endearing and charming, from the dialogue to the art simplistic art style that still manages to get its emotions and point across.
Recommendation:
Phoebe and Marigold’s adventures continue to be a must for any children’s library shelves.
