Bob's Burgers: Medium Rare Review

"We can't go back Tina! We're cave people now. We rely on rats for food, warmth, and yes companionship."

Review:

The Belchers-in-comic-form return in their second volume showcasing the kids in their own unique ways. As like the previous volume the stories on each of the Belcher kids in thier own fitting stories- from Tina's friend fiction to Louise's mysteries to Gene's usually musical themed and in verse. The stories are varied and take cues from other well known stories such as Tarzan, Casablanca, James Bond, and Cinderella  (which in fact stars Gene) but do somethings a little different in this volume.
There's more experimentation with art style that departs from the Bob's Burgers style and works for each Belcher kids story in its own way. Speaking of art, the volume even gives us quite a collection of fun Belcher comic covers and a lovely realistic pin-up. They also start doing two parters of the stories that continue to the next issue to find out what happens much like other comics. Bob and Linda's segments get shaken up a bit too as instead of ideas for Burger of the Day we see Bob's ideas for dream food trucks. Linda's are examples of how it's so hard for the Belchers to have a simple, nice family photo in front of their restaurant.

Recommendations:

If you love Bob's Burgers you'll love this comic, since it's by those who work on the show you can expect the same type of humor and fun making it a good addition to YA shelves.
